Poems

Three Pillars

1. Religion*

First of all, you are cursed with a sinful nature
You have fallen far short of the glory of God
Far short
Not even close

Hell awaits you
Your flesh will burn
You will suffer in agony for eternity
Unless

You become born again
It's far less traumatic than the first
Believe me

*Rules may vary.

Late Stage Capitalism

2. You Suck

You suck!

In so many ways
The mirror is not your friend
You're not very smart
Even when it's obvious you are being conned
You fall for it every time

Because you suck
You don't have enough money
You could smell better
Your teeth aren't white enough
And they are crooked

The drugs you should be asking your doctor about
May cause you to have oily stools
And perhaps make you suicidal
If you aren't already
Consolidating your debt could help

3. Politics

You are surrounded by threats to your safety
You should probably own a gun
Several guns
It's that bad
They will tread on you

Thank God (see #1 above) for our troops
And the immigration police
And first responders, of course
Who sacrifice what could be more useful lives
To protect your freedom

To become a better consumer (see #2)
We hold these truths to be self evident
All men are created equal
Some are threats to your safety
You should probably own a gun

Miasmic Pentameter
(A Pandemic Poem)

Grocery store especially grim today
Toilet paper gone, no flour

People are baking and shitting
Like no other time in history

A crabby ass lady hums a dark psalm
While scouring soup label like scripture

Finding no quick redemption
She settles for low sodium

Atheist

An ant pauses his trek
across the valleys and plateaus
of a lighted keyboard

Blacking out backlit
letters and symbols to create
a message unknown

Not searching for data
for anything or nothing
he stops to rest

Now on the move
across Delete, Backspace
he spell out "+ - P O L O"

Random nonsense or scripture?
Does have a ring to it
But the author moves on

Across the wooden table now
down and across the grain
On a more familiar surface

He knows oak
A more familiar path
But doesn't believe in me

Female Deity

For I am the first and the last.

I am the honored one and the scorned one.

I am the whore and the holy one.

I am the wife and the virgin . . .

I am the barren one,

and many are her sons . . .

I am the silence that is incomprehensible . . .

I am the utterance of my name.

from Gnostic text, Thunder, Perfect Mind (0-200 AD)

Primes

Primes are the number gods

Linked only to the holy One

Effortless and complete

All the rest derived from others Ten thousand upon Another and again

To know who You are A prime would say

Take yourself times One

And there You are

Sermon In The Valley

The Sermon On The Mount is inverted

Multitudes feeding an unwise Master

And it’s never enough

No miracles to be found

The meek only suffer and die
